Situated some 15 miles north of the M4 [J45] this late 18th century stone built cottage overlooks the Gwrhydd hills and common to the south and the Black Mountain in Brecon Beacons National Park to the north. Centrally located midway between Swansea and Llandeilo [each about 17 miles] and within easy reach of Aberglasny, the National Botanic Gardens, Dinefwr Park, Castle and House, Dan yr Ogof caves, Swansea Bay, the Mumbles and of course the Gower peninsular. There are many fine walks in the local area and the village is well served with a local mini market, butcher, hair dresser, post office and chemist. There are two supermarkets with 5 miles and some very worth while restaurants within 20 minutes drive.

The cottage sleeps 4 comfortably in two single bedrooms and a double - although both single beds have pull outs and for weekend breaks or other short periods 6 people are possible. The large lounge is well equiped with mulitfuel stove and freeview satellite tv with dvd. The dining room has a cd player and a second tv / video combination. The cottage is equiped with a rayburn solid fuel cooker as well as an electric fan oven and hob, fridge, freezer and microwave together with a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. There is a large private garden and parking for 2 / 3 vehicles.

The cottage has views all around of the surrounding hills and the Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons. The nearest shop is approximately 500 yards, the nearest Pub is 150 yards. The local rugby ground is located within 200 yards of the cottage with matches played alternate weekends during the season. There is some fantastic walking right from the door including onto the Gwyrhdd, the Black Mountain, the Brecon Beacons and there are also some lovely riverside walks up into the National Park within easy reach. Tennis courts and crown green bowling are available within the village; local horse riding at Craig y Nos, fishing and other outdoor pursuits and local leisure centres in Neath and Swansea. The Gower peninsula is at hand for beaches and spectacular scenery whilst Swansea with it's shopping centre, marina, Maritime Museum, cinemas, theatre, restaurants etc. and the Wales National Swimming pool can be reached in around 30 minutes. The village has a general store, butcher, hairdresser, post office, chemist, take away and library.

The rental periods are :-

Peak - July 22nd & 29th, August 5th, 12th & 19th
High - May 27th, June 24th, July 1st, 8th, 15th, August 26th
Mid - April 8th, 15th, May 20th, June 3rd, 10th, 17th, September 2nd, 9th, October 21st
The rest of year is low except Christmas & New Year [Normal change over day
Thursday 28th of December] when prices are at High Season rate.

For short Breaks - 3 nights @ 65% of the appropriate weekly rate; 4 nights @ 80% of the appropriate weekly rate. 2 night midweek breaks or weekends when available at 50% of the weekly rate.

Rental rates are as follows :-

Low - £189 per week; Mid - £238 per week; High £298 per week and Peak at £391 per week.

We have made arrangements with the W.T.B. for their inspector to grade the property and at the moment we have a provisional 4* rating which we hope that they will confirm.
